Whether you’re into karaoke sing-alongs, pub quizzes, chic lounges, or alternative hangouts, I’ve got you covered with insider tips and must-visit spots. I have rated all clubs and bars on a scale from 1-5, however, I want to remind you that this is my personal experience and yours may vary. Ljubljana’s Club Scene

Square Club (5/5)

Discover the most aesthetic club in Ljubljana at Square Club! Here, the mesmerizing mosaic-style ceiling creates vibrant energy while the massive mirror ball adds a touch of glamour. The DJs offer diverse danceable tunes, featuring all those “quintessential” party hits, delivering European party vibes. It is rather mainstream club music playing, but I enjoyed my time a lot! Also, in my experience, the crowd has been kind and respectful. Conveniently, Square Club is located in the heart of the city center, another advantage of the venue. Techno At K4 (5/5)

Welcome to THE techno club in Ljubljana. It is the city’s premier techno place that offers an electric atmosphere and pulsating beats. Here you can embody the essence of northern European party culture and dance all night long. While the door stuff is chill and welcoming, I recommend dressing in all black anyway, just to be sure. This club’s location is ideal: It is not only to be found in the city center but also has my favorite bar – Zorica bar –  located just above (scroll down for more information on Zorica). Plus, basically next to the club, a 24-hour snack spot called “Fast Food Slast” ensures a seamless party experience. You can check out their Instagram here @klub_k4.

Tiffany Gay Club (4/5)

Explore the vibrant LGBTQ+ scene of Ljubljana at Tiffany’s, a gay club to be found in the alternative Metelkova quarter. Known for its open-minded and inclusive atmosphere, Tiffany’s offers a safe and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds. Dance the night away to great music and keep an eye out for special events that add even more excitement to your nightlife expericience on their Instagram page @klubtiffany.

Shooters (1/5)

Experience Shooters, Ljubljana’s only club offering free entry! With its popularity among Erasmus students, you can expect an international crowd, particularly during the semester. The music is very mainstream, playing all those well-known party songs. I personally did not enjoy my time at Shooters too much due to the unfriendly and a bit aggressive people. However, individual experiences can vary. It also has a central location and closes its doors the latest in Ljubljana. Therefore, Shooters provides a convenient option for those looking to extend their partying into the early hours. Situated close to K4 Club, Holidays Pub, and Zorica Bar, it’s easily accessible for those exploring the city’s nightlife scene. For updates and insights, visit their Instagram page @shootersbarlj.

Cirkus Club (2.5/5)

Cirkus Club will also offer you the typical European party tunes. It has a bustling atmosphere and decent vibe, however, I would steer you towards other venues for a more memorable experience. This club’s location is not perfect, since it is a bit more outside of the city. Also, during my visit the DJ performance has not been bad but also not the best. It is a rather clean club but something about its architecture felt inconvenient. While I am sure that you will have a good time here, you will likely find a better experience elsewhere. Essential Bars

My Favorite: Zorica Bar (5/5)

Experience my favorite bar in Ljubljana – Zorica Bar! With its aesthetic design, delicious drinks, and electric atmosphere, it attracts merely students, and those seeking an alternative vibe. On weekends you can enjoy a live DJ spinning mostly melodic techno at the cozy dancefloor. Best of all, entry is free! If you prefer dancing at a club though, K4 Club and Shooters are just around the corner, and you can simply use Zorica as a starting point for your night out (GoogleMaps Location). Rooftop Bar at Nebotičnik Skyscraper (3/5)

Discover the best panoramic view on Ljubljana at this rooftop bar. While it comes with a higher price tag than other bars, the experience is unmatched. The cocktails are exquisitely tasty too. This place is particularly stunning during sunset. While not a typical nightlife hotspot, this venue is a must-visit for sightseeing purposes. Since it is located in the heart of the city center, it would be tragic to miss out on the unforgettable vista.

Cheers on a Budget at Captain’s Cabin (4/5)

Experience the ultimate pre-drinking destination at this bar! With the longest cocktail menu in town and a 2-for-1 offer on all drinks, it’s a paradise for those looking to kick off their night without breaking the bank. It is also perfectly located directly in the city center. The music sets the vibe just right – a blend of mainstream party tunes with a vibey twist, providing the perfect pre-game motivation. While the atmosphere may be a bit musty and lacking in aesthetics, the unbeatable prices and great vibes make up for it. This place is an Erasmus hotspot, meaning that you will meet a lot of international people during the semester here to get drunk with you. Start your night off right here at the Captain’s Cabin where everything is pirate themed.

Karaoke at Holiday’s Pub (4/5)

Discover Holiday’s Pub, a popular hotspot among Slovene and international people. Here, you will dance to classic party tunes while also discovering Slovene favorites, offering a truly authentic nightlife experience. Don’t miss their legendary karaoke night every Wednesday – it’s your chance to take the stage and sing your heart out! International Pub Quiz (5/5)

For those wanting to put their knowledge on a test, Ljubljana offers a weekly international pub quiz that’s not to be missed. This became a cherished ritual during my time in Ljubljana, and I enjoyed every moment of it! Test your knowledge and together with fellow quiz enthusiasts for only 4 euros, either joining a group or coming solo and being paired up on the spot. Pro tip: secure your spot by signing up on their website in advance, as seats are limited. The location changes every now and then so you can find all the information and the registration form on their website.
